Demonstrating our ongoing commitment to community service and the credit union philosophy of “people helping people,” White Rose Credit Union proudly participated in the York Chapter of Credit Unions’ Community Day initiative, a two-part volunteer effort in partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
The initiative was divided into two impactful workdays. The first, held in February, focused on exterior construction, where credit union team members installed siding on a new home for a local family. The second day, held in June, brought volunteers back to the site to complete a range of interior finishing tasks. These included painting trim, sanding and mudding walls in the crawlspace, and painting interior spaces, each task contributing to the creation of a safe, welcoming, and affordable home.
The Community Day events not only strengthened the bond among credit union professionals but also reinforced the shared mission of supporting the communities they serve. WRCU extends its gratitude to the York Chapter of Credit Unions and Habitat for Humanity for organizing and leading this initiative.
