Making Taxes Feel Less Taxing

February 09, 2015 | White Rose Credit Union | WRCU Happenings

They say there are only two guarantees in life; death and taxes. Here at White Rose Credit Union, we can offer you another guarantee, that filing your taxes can be a stress-free, efficient process. Our organization offers members who are 65 or older or members that have a household income of $52,000 or less, the VITA Program. VITA stands for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance. This program allows community members, who fit the criteria, the opportunity to have their taxes prepared for free.

We offer tax preparation through VITA on site in the West York branch on Mondays, the East York branch on Tuesday, and the Red Lion branch on Wednesdays. Certified volunteers and SecureCorps associates help our credit union members make ends meet by assisting the taxpayer with the preparation of federal, state and local income taxes free of charge.

The York County VITA Program is managed by Lutheran Social Services of South Central Pennsylvania, and operates annually from January to April.  To schedule an appointment at any of the tax preparation locations in the county, please call (717) 854-2244.
