Offering the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program – VITA

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program, a program of the York $ in Your Pocket Coalition, is sponsored by the IRS and provides free income tax assistance to low to moderate income individuals and families (generally household income of $52,000 and below as well as anyone 65 or over). Certified volunteers and SecureCorps associates help our members make ends meet by assisting the taxpayer with the preparation of federal, state and local income taxes free of charge.

The York County VITA Program is managed by Lutheran Social Services of South Central Pennsylvania.  United Way of York County is proud to serve as one of several York County VITA Program’s preparation locations.  The VITA Program operates from January to April yearly.  To schedule an appointment at any of the tax preparation locations in the County, please call (717) 854-2244.
